Like any education, so the boys' education thrives on the contact and the quality of the relationship that between children and adults. In the case of boys' work, it is the mutual contact between an adult man, the young workers, and a boy (or multiple relationships with boys in a group).
The relationship that exists between young workers and boys, that is the basis for all educational efforts. Here, boys by adult men to learn - and vice versa.
For professional work with boys, it is therefore necessary to make conscious contact with the boy. This means that workers know the boy why he was in any way acts against the boys - in short: He knows what he's doing.
reflection - in a team and alone
Therefore, a continuous reflection of their own work for successful youth work is essential. Supervision and feedback from colleagues, are one page.
The other side is the self-reflection - How do I feel in the relationship with the boy? What emotions play a role? Why annoys me this or that behavior? Why does this or that boy is more sympathetic? And how does this affect the relationship? What am I shy? What questions do I have no answer or where I differ from, out of fear?
