Western arrogance

Quote:
What possessed Hamid Karzai? Afghan President sour-faced the West, which guarantees him his power. He feels insulted and provoked, and now he is looking for new alliances to survive a NATO withdrawal policy - the relationship with the U.S. is not kitten anymore.

Is Hamid Karzai went crazy, as it feared long-time associate of Afghan President these days?

Twice in three days of the troubled Afghan president his Western allies with provocative comments. First he claimed that "foreigners" were behind the massive election fraud in the presidential and provincial council elections in September. Then he announced to defect to the Taliban if he'll continue to set international political pressure.

What happened to the charming head of state, the former darling of the West in the chic silk coat and the elegant English?

Hamid Karzai is first and foremost a typical Pashtun: proud to make aware, but also sensitive. The Americans have insulted him and again, and that is unforgivable for him. "We are poor, but we are a proud nation. I am not a servant of a colonial regime, not a puppet president, I would rather die." Spake Karzai when he is sitting with friends. He sees the world.

I can not judge whether he means it as real, whether his statements are only calculus, or why he then played for so long the puppet for the U.S..

What is certain is that the view expressed by his new attitude, it is sincere, then, absolutely true and welcome is. Significantly, like the mirror craziness immediately assumed - apparently is here in the 'West' so slow officially venality as a virtue. Anyone wishing to be not of wealth, luxury and safety items now in power, turned over, and has its own crude worldview.

Puck also the following paragraph:
There was the election crisis, and instead of making electoral fraud as Atonement, the angry Karzai believes today cheated of outright victory. The constant and never-resolved scandal involving his brother, Ahmad Wali, who is suspected of drug trafficking, he considered a personal attack on their family and the continuing allegations against his corrupt government as an attack on his integrity.

As if Western governments only one bit would be better. What was that with the splitter and the beam?
